Raphaël Glucksmann wins French centre-left presidential primary
Raphaël Glucksmann, a member of the European Parliament and leader of the Place Publique movement, won France’s centre-left presidential primary on Sunday.
He received more than 66% of the vote in a contest organized by the Socialist Party and its centre-left allies, with just over 120,000 people taking part.
Socialist leader Olivier Faure finished second with about 14.5%.
Glucksmann says he wants to offer a democratic left that breaks with the influence of Jean-Luc Mélenchon and his France Unbowed party, and he rules out an alliance with it.

Polls cited in the coverage put him behind far-right leader Marine Le Pen, who is leading the race.
