Josh Inglis to rejoin Australia squad before second South Africa Test

Josh Inglis is set to rejoin Australia’s Test squad in South Africa ahead of the second Test in Gqeberha.

He missed the first Test in Durban after injuring a finger while wicketkeeping in the first ODI between the teams on September 24.

He returned to Australia for further assessment and also missed the remaining two ODIs.

Inglis has played five Tests and is not Australia’s first-choice wicketkeeper-batter.

If fit, he could be selected as a specialist batter.

He may replace Nic Maddinson, who made a duck in his first innings in Durban.

Cameron Green is also injured and will not be available as an all-rounder for the rest of the series.
