Intelligence-led operation kills wanted LeT terrorist Hashim Moosa in Budgam
Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir received information about where a wanted Lashkar-e-Taiba operative was hiding.
They used that information to find him in Budgam district.
The operative was Mohammad Asif, who was also called Hashim Moosa and Asif Fauji.
He was killed late on September 29.
Officials said he had been tracked for more than 18 months.
Intelligence reports accused him of involvement in several attacks on security forces.
He was also in contact with a senior Lashkar-e-Taiba commander.
After the operation, forces recovered a rifle, ammunition magazines and communication devices.
Pakistani Lashkar-e-Taiba operative Mohammad Asif, alias Hashim Moosa, was killed in Budgam on September 29.
The operation followed specific intelligence about his presence near Gurweth Kalan and ended around 10:30 p.m.
Moosa had reportedly been sought for more than 18 months after allegedly infiltrating India in 2023.
Intelligence inputs linked him to attacks in Kulgam, Poonch, Gulmarg and DKG that killed security personnel and porters.
Security forces recovered an AK-47, two magazines, LoRa/Ultra communication devices and a mobile phone.
