Adani pledges ₹1 trillion Bengal investment by 2035
Gautam Adani said his business group plans to invest more than ₹1 lakh crore in Bengal by 2035.
The money could support ports, roads, power projects, data centres and other infrastructure.
His group has also started building a large hospital in New Town.
The hospital will have 2,000 beds, and half will be for poorer patients.
Adani called Bengal his group’s possible “second karmabhoomi,” or important home for its work.
The group also agreed to help restore Writers’ Buildings and support Durga Puja events.
Chief minister Suvendu Adhikari praised the investment as important for Bengal.
He said more investment could create jobs and help develop the state.
