Assam Police arrested a 21-year-old person they believe worked for the Shahzad Bhatti Network.

The arrest happened in the Ramnathpur area of Hailakandi district.

The police operation was carried out jointly by the Special Task Force and Hailakandi Police.

Officers said they found several documents with the suspect.

They said the arrest came after investigating three earlier arrests.

Those three people were arrested in different Assam districts on July 25.

The government describes the Shahzad Bhatti Network as a Pakistan-based terror syndicate.

It alleges that the group has been connected to attacks and spying activities in India.
