Trump Hails Kim Jong Un Rapport, Says Peninsula Safer

The president of the United States, Donald Trump, said he gets along very well with the leader of North Korea, Kim Jong Un.

He said they have met and talked, and that they understand each other.

Trump said Kim has always treated him with great respect.

He also said Kim did not like some earlier American presidents.

Trump thinks his friendly approach is making the Korean Peninsula safer.

He told his military leader, Pete Hegseth, to make big military training exercises with South Korea much smaller.

Trump said the exercises cost too much money and send a mean signal to North Korea.

He said it was too late to cancel them completely, but he wanted fewer of them.

Trump said North Korea has been respectful and not threatening while he has been president.
