Critical Care Centres Inaugurated Across Three Andhra Pradesh Districts
Three government hospitals in Andhra Pradesh have opened new centres for treating very sick patients.
They are in Visakhapatnam, Anakapalli and Srikakulam.
The centres were created under the Prime Minister’s Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission.
They will provide services such as intensive care, dialysis and emergency treatment.
The Anakapalli centre can help accident victims and people with heart emergencies during the important first hour of treatment.
The Visakhapatnam centre will have ICU beds, ventilators and isolation wards.
The Srikakulam centre will also provide maternal and child care, operation theatres and cardiac care.
Officials said these facilities will reduce the need to send patients to other hospitals and improve access for poorer families.
Critical Care Centres were inaugurated in Visakhapatnam, Anakapalli and Srikakulam under PM-ABHIM.
Anakapalli’s centre at NTR Hospital cost Rs 22.09 crore and will receive equipment worth Rs 7.50 crore.
A 50-bed Critical Care Block opened at Visakhapatnam’s King George Hospital at a cost of Rs 23.75 crore.
Srikakulam’s Government General Hospital received a 50-bed block costing Rs 23.75 crore, with equipment worth Rs 4.50 crore to be supplied under an IOCL MoU.
The facilities are intended to provide intensive and emergency care locally, reducing patient transfers and helping poorer and middle-class patients.
