Pune Police Inspector Arrested In ₹50,000 Bribery Trap

The Anti-Corruption Bureau says a police inspector in Pune asked for money from a complainant.

The inspector allegedly wanted ₹50,000 to complete a chargesheet quickly.

He also allegedly asked for ₹2 lakh to help the complainant’s son with a bail application.

Officials checked the complaint and said the ₹50,000 demand was confirmed.

They then arranged a trap operation in Manjari.

The inspector allegedly accepted the money inside his car while a witness was present.

Officers arrested him at about 11:02 p.m.

The case is being investigated under India’s anti-corruption law.
