The MNS says some Navi Mumbai civic workers have not received money they are owed.

It wants electrical-department workers to be classified correctly and paid their arrears.

It also wants contractual workers to receive a monthly allowance of Rs 7,500.

The allowance was approved two months ago, but workers have not been told when payments will begin.

Sandeep Deshpande gave the administration 10 days to address the electrical workers’ issue.

He said a bigger protest could happen if allowance payments do not start within a month.

The workers’ union also asked for health insurance for all civic workers.

Meanwhile, some workers at the NMMC hospital in Vashi joined the MNS.
