Centre Blocks 3,718 Apps, Saves Rs 11,158 Crore From Fraud
The government of India is working hard to stop people who cheat others online.
Some cheaters make fake mobile apps, especially fake loan apps, to trick people.
The government has stopped 3,718 of these bad apps.
A special police team called I4C helped block the bad apps.
Cheaters were also using many SIM cards and phone codes, and the government blocked over 15.75 lakh SIM cards and 5.77 lakh IMEIs.
Because of this work, more than Rs 11,158 crore of people's money was kept safe.
People who are cheated can quickly report it through a special system called CFCFRMS.
The government also made new modules operational in April 2026 to return stolen money and fix problems with frozen bank accounts.
It runs campaigns on TV, radio, in schools and at IPL matches to teach people about online safety.
All of this helps keep people safe from online fraud.
The Centre has blocked 3,718 mobile apps, including fraudulent loan apps, till June 30, 2026, under Sections 69(A) and 79(3)(b) of the IT Act, 2000.
The government saved more than Rs 11,158 crore across over 32.80 lakh complaints received through the Citizen Financial Cyber Fraud Reporting and Management System (CFCFRMS).
Over 15.75 lakh SIM cards and 5.77 lakh IMEIs have been blocked by the Government of India, as reported by police authorities.
More than 30.48 lakh suspect identifiers and 32.08 lakh Layer 1 mule accounts were shared through the Suspect Registry, leading to declined transactions worth Rs 25,698 crore.
