Telangana Police Officers Suspended for Sexual Misconduct Since 2022
There are people called police officers whose job is to keep everyone safe.
But in a place called Telangana, some police officers were accused of not behaving properly with women.
Because of that, their bosses took away their duties for a while.
This has happened to seven police officers since 2022.
One officer was suspected of having a secret relationship with a woman who also worked at the police station.
Another officer promised to marry a woman but hid the fact that he was already married.
One officer was arrested for very serious wrongdoing and was fired from the police force.
Police leaders said this kind of behavior is not allowed.
They want officers to act properly and follow the rules.
When officers break the rules, they are punished.
Four SHOs and three sub-inspectors in Telangana have been suspended since 2022 over sexual misconduct allegations.
In July 2026, SI Shaik Nagul Meera of Borabanda police station was suspended after his wife lodged a complaint about his relationship with a woman constable.
In May 2026, SI Suresh Kumar of Kollur police station was suspended and later arrested after a woman constable alleged he promised marriage while already married.
In 2022, former Marredpally SHO Koratla Nageswara Rao was arrested and dismissed after rape and kidnap charges were proved against him in a departmental inquiry.
In November 2023, inspector Guntrapally Raju was arrested in Vanasthalipuram after his wife caught him with another woman and he assaulted a constable.
