A junior doctor was raped and killed at R.G. Kar hospital in Kolkata in August 2024.

The Central Bureau of Investigation, or CBI, is conducting a second investigation into the case.

The Calcutta High Court reviewed the CBI’s progress report in a private hearing.

The court ordered the CBI to finish the investigation and submit its final report within three weeks.

The CBI had asked for four weeks but was given less time.

The victim’s family had asked investigators to examine 54 different issues.

The CBI said it had examined 16 of them so far.

Investigators also questioned doctors and a food delivery worker who were connected to the events that night.

The next hearing is scheduled for September 24.

Sanjay Roy has already been convicted and is serving a life sentence.
