Police in Srikakulam have registered a case against former minister Dharmana Prasada Rao and seven other people.

The case concerns houses built for fishermen whose homes were damaged by Cyclone Hudhud.

About 250 houses had been approved in Kunduvanipeta village.

Some beneficiaries had not received their house documents because they were absent.

Later, some fishermen asked the district Collector for their houses.

Police say Dharmana and another local leader held house-warming ceremonies for six fishermen without permission.

A Housing Department official filed the complaint.
