Supreme Court issues notice on plea over cockroach remark memes
A lawyer named Raja Choudhary went to the Supreme Court of India with a big question.
One day in May, a top judge said the word 'cockroach' while talking in court.
Soon, people on the internet made jokes, memes, and even a group called the Cockroach Janata Party from just that one word.
Mr. Choudhary says jokes about court can be okay, but making money from them and twisting what really happened is not.
He asked the CBI, a special police force, to investigate the group and the people using the judge's words for money.
He also asked the judges to make new rules to keep court talks safe and honest on the internet.
The judges listened and asked the government, the CBI, and the lawyers' council to share their views.
To explain his idea, he used a famous old story by Franz Kafka, where a man turns into a giant bug.
The next meeting about this case will happen on 10 September, and until then, everyone is thinking it over.
