Meta India Chief Summoned Over Instagram Child Abuse Ad Report · NDTV

India’s child rights agency is investigating advertisements that allegedly linked Instagram users to child sexual abuse material.

The allegations came from a BBC Eye report.

The agency asked Meta, Instagram’s parent company, to explain what happened.

Meta sent a response about a week later.

The agency now wants two senior Meta India officials to answer more questions on September 9, 2026.

Another government body, the NHRC, asked Delhi Police to investigate separately.

Police were also asked to check whether reporting rules under the POCSO Act were followed.

The allegations have not been established by the inquiries described in these reports.
