A court ordered the tax department to pay Vodafone Idea ₹53.09 crore plus interest.

Vodafone Idea said this was a routine tax matter and did not need a formal stock-market disclosure.

Reports also said the company may seek about ₹35,000 crore in funding.

The company said it had already raised ₹6,400 crore in an initial funding tranche.

Its latest quarterly loss was smaller than a year earlier, and its average revenue per user increased.

Vodafone Idea also expanded 5G coverage to more than 200 cities.
