Mehbooba Mufti Urges J-K Parties to Unite in Centre Talks
PDP chief urges J-K parties to emulate Ladakh unity, calls for collective engagement with Centre · theprint.in

Mehbooba Mufti wants political parties in Jammu and Kashmir to work together.

She said they could learn from groups in Ladakh that united to press for their demands.

Mufti believes a shared platform would help them raise regional issues with the Centre.

She said young people face difficulties and that leaders should listen to them.

She also said arrests, detentions, surveillance and raids affect families.

According to Mufti, most parties responded positively to her letter, but the National Conference did not support the proposal.

She spoke about her party’s past alliance with the BJP and said her government withdrew cases against around 12,000 young people.

She argued that cooperation and more opportunities for young people matter to the region’s future.
