India's Oilmeals Exports Decline 40% in December
India's oilmeals exports have decreased by 40% in December 2025 compared to the same month last year.
This drop is mainly because fewer soybean meals were shipped.
Overall, from April to December 2025, India sent 29.75 lakh tonnes of oilmeals abroad, which is less than the 31.50 lakh tonnes sent in the same period last year.
The main reasons for this decline are that Indian oilmeals are not as competitively priced in the global market, and there is less demand for soybean meal from local livestock feed makers.
Additionally, the price of rapeseed meal has gone up, which might reduce China's purchases.
Major importers of Indian oilmeals include South Korea, China, and Bangladesh.
India's oilmeals exports declined by 40% in December 2025 compared to December 2024.
Total oilmeals exports for April-December 2025-26 were 29.75 lakh tonnes, down from 31.50 lakh tonnes in the same period last year.
Soybean meal exports dropped to 2.28 lakh tonnes in November-December 2025-26 from 4.61 lakh tonnes in the same period last year.
The decline is attributed to loss of price competitiveness and weak domestic demand for soybean meal.
Rapeseed meal exports to China were 6.77 lakh tonnes in April-December 2025-26, up from 26,327 tonnes in the same period last year.
