India to launch unified digital insolvency platform
The Indian government is creating a new digital platform called iPIE to make the insolvency process faster and easier.
Right now, different parts of the process use separate systems, which causes delays and extra costs.
The new platform will bring everything together in one place, so all the people and organizations involved can share information quickly and easily.
This should help resolve insolvency cases faster and make the whole process more efficient.
The government is asking for feedback on the plan before finalizing it.
The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has released a blueprint for the Integrated Platform for Insolvency Ecosystem (iPIE).
iPIE aims to replace the current fragmented workflow with an end-to-end digital process.
The platform will connect various authorities and stakeholders, including NCLT, NCLAT, IBBI, MCA, and insolvency professionals.
iPIE seeks to address operational shortcomings of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) by reducing duplication and speeding up decision-making.
The platform will manage all aspects of insolvency proceedings, from claims and meetings to auctions and distribution of proceeds.

“"A unified platform can compress delays by instantly establishing facts, default records from the IU, corporate filings from MCA-21, while a single visible marketplace for resolution opportunities and auctions should widen participation by resolution applicants and interim finance providers."”
