AIIMS Delhi debarres two suppliers over defective medical equipment · thehindubusinessline.com

AIIMS is a very big hospital in Delhi, India, where doctors treat many sick people.

Hospitals need special tools and supplies to help patients, like syringes for medicines.

AIIMS bought syringes from a company called Tirupati Medilines.

But the syringes that arrived had problems — some even had tiny bugs inside them or broken needles.

Another company, Taarini Medicare, supplied suction sets that help clear fluids during surgery, and those did not work properly either.

Doctors and staff complained about the broken items many times over many months.

The companies said they were just the sellers and not the makers of the items.

AIIMS said that did not matter because the companies had agreed to supply good products.

So AIIMS decided that these two companies are not allowed to sell supplies to the hospital for two years.

This is important because broken medical tools can hurt patients, and hospitals must make sure the things they use are safe.
