Telangana Rights Commission Seeks Reports on Alleged Police Misconduct
The Telangana Human Rights Commission is examining two complaints about events involving politicians and police officers.
The events allegedly happened on September 7.
One complaint says a politician used insulting language about a Dalit Assembly Speaker.
It also describes alleged abusive behavior toward Dalit protesters outside a farmhouse.
Another complaint says some BRS lawmakers removed their shirts while women police officers were working nearby.
The complaint says this embarrassed and upset the officers.
The commission asked the police chief to submit reports.
The cases will be considered again on October 9.
The Telangana Human Rights Commission directed the Director General of Police to report on two complaints linked to incidents on September 7.
One complaint alleged that Bharat Rashtra Samithi MLC Tata Madhusudhan used abusive language against Dalit Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar.
The complaint also alleged that protesters outside K. Chandrashekar Rao’s Erravalli farmhouse faced derogatory remarks and a symbolic “purification” act.
A separate complaint alleged that some Bharat Rashtra Samithi MLAs removed their black T-shirts before female police personnel during an Assembly protest.
Both cases were adjourned until October 9, with complainants seeking legal action or an inquiry.
