Devotee Drowns At Mahur Kund After Pilgrimage
A 28-year-old man named Aniket Valmik Turak went to Mahur for a religious pilgrimage.
He had walked to 26 religious places with his sister and other devotees.
After finishing the pilgrimage, he went to Matrutirth Kund to bathe.
He swam away from the steps and later had difficulty returning.
Guards tried to rescue him but could not find him immediately.
A search began at about 9 a.m.
His body was found around 3 p.m.
The incident saddened his family and the pilgrimage community.
He is survived by his wife, mother, and six-month-old daughter.
Aniket Valmik Turak, 28, drowned at Matrutirth Kund in Mahur, Nanded district.
Turak had completed a foot pilgrimage covering 26 religious sites.
He entered the kund to bathe before beginning his return journey.
Guards and officials conducted a search lasting nearly six hours.
His body was recovered around 3 p.m. and sent for post-mortem examination.
