The Enforcement Directorate filed a fresh corruption complaint against arrested DCP Santanu Sinha Biswas at Gariahat police station.
The agency alleged that Sinha Biswas misused his official position to provide financial and commercial benefits to himself, family members and alleged criminals.
The ED said its investigation identified at least ₹2.89 crore in monetary and property benefits allegedly derived by Sinha Biswas.
The agency alleged he purchased two flats for ₹82 lakh in another person’s name and paid his son’s medical college fees.
The ED also alleged that more than ₹61.36 lakh was spent renovating his Murshidabad residence using proceeds of crime; he was arrested in May in a land fraud case.
