Doctors Launch Cricket League to Promote Drug-Free Living
Doctors in Nizamabad started a cricket league to teach people about the dangers of drugs.
The event’s message is to say no to drugs and yes to life and sports.
Police Commissioner P. Sai Chaitanya asked young people to stay away from addictive substances.
He said sports can help people become disciplined and stay healthy.
Doctors also explained that addiction is a health condition that can be treated.
Treatment may include medicines, counselling and rehabilitation.
People affected by addiction and their families were encouraged to seek professional help.
The cricket league will continue until September 8.
The Indian Medical Association Nizamabad launched the Doctors’ Cricket League at Rockets Cricket Ground in Keshapur.
The league promotes the message “Say No to Drugs—Say Yes to Life and Sports.”
Nizamabad Police Commissioner P. Sai Chaitanya urged young people to choose sports, exercise and healthy lifestyles.
Dr. Vishal Akula said addiction is treatable through medical care, counselling, psychological support and rehabilitation.
The league runs from September 1 to 8, with prizes presented to winners on September 8.
