Odisha secures Rs 41,748 crore food processing investment pledges
Odisha is a big state in India.
It usually makes money from digging minerals out of the ground.
Now its leaders want to make money from food too.

The business owners promised to spend lots of money on food factories and food projects in Odisha.
They promised to spend about 41,748 crore rupees.

Odisha secured Rs 41,748 crore in food processing investment commitments from 27 companies at an investors' meet in New Delhi organised with industry body Assocham.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi first cited MoUs worth Rs 31,648 crore with 22 companies, later updated to Rs 41,748 crore under signed MoUs.
First-day proposals totalled Rs 43,437 crore, including Rs 1,689 crore through 12 investment intent forms, with potential to create 43,316 jobs.
The state aims to diversify beyond mining and minerals, targeting 1 crore non-farm jobs by 2047 and raising seafood exports from about Rs 5,000 crore to Rs 25,000 crore.
Chief Secretary Anu Garg said Odisha's USD 130 billion economy is targeting USD 500 billion by 2036 and USD 1.5 trillion by 2047.
