Foreign Investors’ Record June Selling Hits Indian Equities
Foreign investors sold a very large amount of shares in India on Friday.
They sold shares worth Rs 5,040 crore.
This was their biggest one-day sale since June 8, 2026.
The sale wiped out the money foreign investors had added to the market during August.
Indian institutions bought even more shares, worth Rs 5,184 crore, helping absorb much of the selling.
Two big share sales made up a large part of the foreign selling.
The Government of Singapore sold part of its holding in Ather Energy to Hero MotoCorp.
Alpha Wave Ventures also sold part of its holding in Lenskart Solutions to institutional investors and mutual funds.

The Government of Singapore sold a 3.01% stake in Ather Energy for Rs 1,758 crore, with Hero MotoCorp as the buyer.
Alpha Wave Ventures sold a 1.7% stake in Lenskart Solutions for Rs 1,857 crore, bought by institutional investors including the National Pension System Trust and mutual funds.
