BRS Protests at KTPP Over Coal Shortages and Power Supply
BRS leaders protested at a Telangana power plant called KTPP.
They said the plant was not receiving enough coal.
The leaders said KTPP needs about 5,000 tonnes of coal each day but gets only about 1,500 tonnes.
They argued that this could reduce electricity production.
They also said farmers, homes and industries were affected by power problems.
Police first stopped the group from entering the plant.
After a protest outside, the leaders were allowed to enter.
They demanded reliable electricity, irrigation water and repairs to irrigation systems.
BRS leaders held a ‘Chalo KTPP’ protest on Thursday over power supply and coal shortages.
Leaders alleged KTPP receives about 1,500 tonnes of coal daily against a requirement of 5,000 tonnes.
They said inadequate coal was affecting generation at KTPP, Yadadri and Bhadradri stations.
The delegation demanded uninterrupted electricity, stronger generation and transmission systems, and adequate coal supplies.
Police initially stopped the leaders from entering KTPP; they later entered after staging a protest outside.
