200,000 Devotees Attend Shakambhari Festival in Vijayawada
A big festival called Shakambhari was held at a temple in Vijayawada from July 27 to 29.
More than 200,000 people came to see the goddess.
The temple gave out free food to many of them.
To keep everyone safe, the temple stopped some special viewing areas and only let people in through a main gate.
The temple’s manager checked on new building projects so they would finish before the next big festival, Dasara.
Over 200,000 devotees attended the Shakambhari festival at Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam in Vijayawada from July 27-29.
The festival coincided with Guru Purnima and Ashada Sare festivals, drawing pilgrims from Andhra Pradesh and neighboring states.
Temple authorities distributed 79,800 free Kadamba prasadam and 20,790 free Annaprasadam to devotees.
To manage crowds, the temple temporarily suspended Antaralaya darshan and restricted entry to Bangaru Vakili, suspending VIP and protocol darshans.
Temple executive officer V.K. Seena Naik inspected ongoing engineering works for Dasara preparations, urging completion before the annual celebrations.
