AITA Implements 70-Year Age Cap for Executive Committee Members

The All India Tennis Association is the group that helps run tennis in India.

The people in charge decided to make new rules about who can be on their main committee.

Now, a person must be younger than 70 years old when they sign up to be a candidate.

If a member turns 70 while doing the job, they can still finish their four-year term.

The vote on this age rule was very close: 25 people said yes and 22 said no.

Most of the other new rules were approved by more than 95 out of every 100 voters.

A court in Delhi is watching the whole process and asked for new elections by September 30, 2026.

The court also chose a special helper named Gita Mittal to make sure everything is done fairly.

AITA also has to pick four great tennis players, including two women, for the committee.

These changes are meant to follow India's new sports law and make the organisation fairer.
