Edinburgh Film Festival Industry Programme Returns With UK Indie Focus

Edinburgh in Scotland hosts a big movie festival every year.

This year, the festival is adding a bigger program for people who work in movies.

A special event called the UK Film Conference will talk about making smaller, independent movies in Britain.

The head of the BFI, Ben Roberts, will give the first big talk at the conference.

Movie experts will also discuss fun questions like whether classic films such as Trainspotting could be made today.

Famous guests like Ewan McGregor, Bruce Dern, and Ken Burns will answer questions about their careers.

Kenneth Branagh will receive a special new award for his work in movies.

Young filmmakers got money to make short films through the Sean Connery Talent Lab.

The festival happens in August, when many visitors come to Edinburgh for several festivals at once.

It will run from August 13 to 19.
