Delhi schoolgirl, 12, killed by DTC bus; mob vandalises vehicle
A 12-year-old girl named Kaina was going to school with her father on a scooter one morning.
A big city bus hit their scooter from behind.
The scooter fell over, and Kaina went under the bus.
She was hurt very badly and sadly died at the spot.
People who lived nearby were very angry about what happened.
Some of them damaged the bus.
Police came quickly and calmed everyone down.
The bus driver was taken by the police to answer questions.
Police are looking at videos from cameras in the area to understand exactly what happened.
This happened in a part of Delhi called Mayur Vihar Phase 3.
A 12-year-old schoolgirl, Kaina, died after a DTC bus allegedly ran over her in Dallupura, Mayur Vihar Phase 3, East Delhi.
Kaina was travelling to school with her father on a scooter at around 8:30 am when a bus approaching from behind hit their vehicle.
Following the accident, an angry mob allegedly vandalised the DTC bus before police brought the situation under control.
The bus driver has been taken into custody, and the girl's body was sent to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital for post-mortem.
Police are examining CCTV footage to establish the sequence of events, DCP Rajiv Kumar said, as the investigation continues.
