8th Pay Commission: Salary Estimates Under 3.83, 4.0
The 8th Pay Commission will recommend a new pay structure for central government employees and pensioners.
A fitment factor is a number used to multiply a worker’s current basic pay.
Some employee and pensioner groups want the factor to be 3.83 or 4.0.
If someone earns basic pay of ₹18,000, the estimated new basic pay would be ₹68,940 at 3.83.
At 4.0, it would be ₹72,000.
These figures are only examples and are not final salaries.
Other payments, such as dearness allowance, house rent allowance and transport allowance, could change the final monthly salary.
The government will decide after the commission submits its recommendations and they are accepted.

The All India Federation of Pensioners’ Associations suggested a 3.83 fitment factor.
