Northern Railway Adds Special Trains for Raksha Bandhan Travel
Northern Railway is adding extra trains for people travelling during Raksha Bandhan in 2026.
These trains will begin running on August 27.
One reserved train will connect Delhi and Varanasi.
Other unreserved trains will connect Delhi with Ringas and Lucknow with Haridwar.
The trains will run on different dates around the festival.
Some trains will have air-conditioned, sleeper and general coaches, while others will have only general coaches.
They will stop at several stations along their routes.
Travellers can call 139 to find out more and plan their journeys.
Northern Railway will run special trains from August 27, 2026, to manage Raksha Bandhan travel demand.
A reserved Delhi–Varanasi special will operate on August 27, with its return service running on August 28.
Unreserved Delhi Sarai Rohilla–Ringas trains will run on August 27–29 for passengers travelling toward Rajasthan.
Unreserved Lucknow–Haridwar services will operate between August 27 and 30 in both directions.
