Nasha Mukt Yuva pledge held at Vishnu Institute, Bhimavaram
On Saturday, students at a college called Vishnu Institute of Technology took part in a special pledge.
A pledge is a promise, and these students promised to stay away from drugs.
The event was part of a big nationwide campaign called 'Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat'.
That name means 'Drug-Free Youth for a Developed India'.
The college principal, Dr Mangam Venu, told students that drugs are harmful.
He asked them to live a healthy and responsible life instead.
Volunteers from the NSS, a group that serves society, said they would teach other young people about staying drug-free.
Teachers, staff, and many students joined in and made the promise together.
Their goal is to help young people grow up healthy and be good citizens.
A mass pledge was organised at Vishnu Institute of Technology (Autonomous), Bhimavaram on Saturday as part of the nationwide 'Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat' campaign.
The event was organised by Dr BV Raju Foundation and Sri Vishnu Educational Society and executed by the NSS Unit of Vishnu Institute of Technology.
College Principal Dr Mangam Venu emphasised the need for youth to stay away from drug abuse and adopt a healthy and responsible lifestyle.
NSS volunteers said they would strive to create awareness among youth about the importance of a drug-free society, healthy lifestyle, and responsible citizenship.
Vice Principal Prof M Srilakshmi, deans, heads of departments, faculty, NSS Programme Officer Dr K Ganga Raju, NSS staff, volunteers, and students participated in the programme.
