Bank of Baroda Wins Rajbhasha Award Fifth Consecutive Year
Bank of Baroda received an award for using India’s official language effectively.
It won the Second Prize in a government award program for large nationalised banks and financial institutions.
The award was presented on September 14, 2026, in Navi Mumbai.
Dr. Debadatta Chand accepted it for the bank.
This is the fifth year in a row that the bank has received the award.
The bank says it wants customers to use the language they are most comfortable with.
It is expanding multilingual services through apps, WhatsApp, chatbots and call centres.
Its new AI tool, bob-SAMVAD, is designed to help communicate in Indian languages.
Other committees connected with the bank also received awards, bringing the total to 20.
Bank of Baroda received the Second Prize in the 2025-26 Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar scheme.
The award was given in the headquarters category for nationalised banks and financial institutions with more than 800 employees.
Dr. Debadatta Chand accepted the award on Hindi Diwas 2026 and the Sixth All India Official Language Conference on September 14, 2026.
The bank has now received three First Prizes and two Second Prizes in five consecutive years.
Including related committee recognitions, Bank of Baroda received 20 awards across various categories.
