Telegram Applies for .gram Domain to Enable Custom Websites

Telegram wants to create a new internet ending called .gram.

Its founder, Pavel Durov, announced that the company has applied for it.

If the application is approved, people might be able to create addresses such as yourname.gram.

These addresses could connect to Telegram.

Users might also be able to build interactive websites linked to the messaging service.

However, Telegram does not have approval yet.

The report does not say when a decision will be made.

The change could give Telegram more ways for people to use the platform.
