Nvidia’s AI Investment Portfolio Poised to Surpass $100 Billion
Nvidia is a chip company that is also investing heavily in artificial intelligence businesses.
As of July 26, it said its investments were worth $99 billion, with another $25 billion promised.
Its shares in public companies were worth $63.44 billion at the end of June.
By early September, those public holdings were estimated at $46.43 billion, mainly because Intel’s share price fell.
Nvidia also had about $48 billion invested in private companies.
It had 163 active private investments, according to FactSet.
Its biggest private bets include OpenAI and Anthropic.
If more of these companies become publicly traded, Nvidia’s investment portfolio could grow beyond $100 billion and give it more influence in artificial intelligence.
Nvidia reported $99 billion in equity investments and $25 billion in additional equity investment commitments as of July 26.
Its publicly disclosed stakes were valued at $63.44 billion on June 30, including holdings in Intel, SpaceX, CoreWeave, and other companies.
The estimated value of those public positions fell to $46.43 billion by early September, mainly because Nvidia’s Intel stake declined from about $30 billion to roughly $19 billion.
Nvidia’s private-company holdings were valued at about $48 billion, with 163 active private investments tracked by FactSet.
Major private investments include $30 billion in OpenAI and up to $10 billion in Anthropic, while the company has also backed several other AI and data-center businesses.
