On 12 August, Chennai quoted 22-carat gold at Rs. 1,42,200 (hike of Rs. 500) and 24-carat gold at Rs. 1,54,910 (hike of Rs. 540) per 10 grams.
On 11 August, Bengaluru's 10-gram rates were Rs. 1,42,200 for 22-carat and Rs. 1,55,130 for 24-carat, while Chennai's were Rs. 1,42,550 and Rs. 1,55,460 respectively.
Silver traded at Rs. 2,55,000 per kg in Bengaluru and Rs. 2,60,000 per kg in Chennai; gold prices had fallen during the wedding season over the past few weeks.
