Sensex, Nifty Face Key Resistance as Outlook Remains Cautious
India's main stock indexes had a difficult week and fell for the third week in a row.
On Friday, both indexes recovered some ground.
Buying in technology shares helped lift the market.
Lower crude oil prices and positive signals from global technology markets also helped.
However, investors remain cautious because of interest-rate worries and geopolitical uncertainty.
The Sensex needs to move above 78,000 to show stronger recovery.
The Nifty needs to cross 24,400 for its outlook to improve.
If either index falls below important support levels, more selling could occur.
Sensex and Nifty declined for a third consecutive week amid global rate concerns, geopolitical uncertainty and market volatility.
The Sensex faces immediate resistance at 77,700-78,000, with support near 77,000 and 76,700-76,500.
The Nifty's key resistance is at 24,300-24,400, while support remains around 24,000-23,800.
A sustained move above 78,000 for the Sensex or 24,400 for the Nifty could extend the recovery.
On Friday, the Sensex rose 331 points and the Nifty gained 85 points, supported by IT shares, global technology cues and softer crude prices.
