L&T, Reliance and Advait Share 300 MW Hydrogen Capacity
Electrolysers are machines that use electricity to separate water into hydrogen and oxygen.
Hydrogen made with clean electricity is called green hydrogen.
L&T, Reliance and Advait have each been awarded 300 MW of potential yearly electrolyser-making capacity under a government programme.
This does not mean that all three companies are equally large or are already producing the same amount.
L&T is using its engineering and construction experience.
Reliance is building a much bigger clean-energy system involving solar power, batteries and green fuels.
Advait is much smaller and is trying to grow through electrolysers, hydrogen equipment and projects.
