BJP Spent More Than Twice Congress On Five Assembly Polls
Political parties spend money to tell voters about their candidates and plans during elections.
The BJP reported spending Rs 529 crore on five state elections.

The election reports were submitted to the Election Commission of India.
The Bharatiya Janata Party spent Rs 529 crore on elections in Assam, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, West Bengal and Kerala.
The Indian National Congress reported combined spending of Rs 248.55 crore across the five elections.
West Bengal accounted for the BJP’s largest expenditure, at Rs 286.99 crore, including Rs 217 crore on general propaganda.
The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam spent Rs 197 crore in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, while the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam spent Rs 112 crore across three polls.
The BJP received Rs 1,473 crore and Congress received Rs 207 crore between the announcement and completion of the five elections.
