Tipra Motha Wins Most Seats in Tripura Village Committee Polls
People in tribal areas of Tripura voted for representatives in local Village Committees.

Tipra Motha Party won 3,428 of the 4,594 seats reported in the results, or 74.61 per cent.
The BJP won 859 seats, the CPI (M) 87, the IPFT 33, Congress 14, and Independents 173.
The elections covered 587 Village Committees under the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council.
A total of 1,644 seats were won uncontested, while nominations were not filed for three notified seats.
The polls were held on September 28, after a decade-long gap, following directions from the Supreme Court.
