The Rotary Kharghar Charitable Trust held a Ganesha idol-making workshop on September 5 at Regency Crest Society in Sector 19, Kharghar.
Children made Ganesha idols by hand using shadu clay under the guidance of trained instructors.
Organisers explained the environmental benefits of clay idols and the harmful impact of plaster of Paris idols on water bodies and the environment.
Rotary members and Kiran Patil of Yuvaprerna Social Organisation attended and encouraged environmentally responsible festival celebrations.
