After Decade, Ashwini Bidre’s Family Finally Receives Death Certificate

Ashwini Bidre was a police officer who disappeared more than 10 years ago.

She was last seen near Kharghar railway station in April 2016.

Her body has never been found.

A court later convicted former inspector Abhay Kurundkar of murdering her.

He received a life sentence.

Two other accused people received seven-year sentences.

Ashwini’s husband repeatedly asked officials for an official death certificate.

The certificate was finally issued after an Executive Magistrate ordered it.

An appeal against the convictions is still being considered by the Bombay High Court.
