Guntur Sets Up Direct Rice Sale Centres to Cut Prices
The Guntur state government is starting new rice sale centres in Bapatla district to help people buy rice cheaper.
From August 1, these centres will sell super‑fine rice for Rs 52 a kilogram, steam rice for Rs 52, and raw rice for Rs 50.
Each person can buy up to 26 kilograms at a time.
To buy, you need a rice card and your Aadhaar card.
The goal is to make good rice more affordable for everyone.
Guntur state government will open direct rice sale centres in Bapatla district from August 1.
Centres will operate in Bapatla, Chirala, Parchur, Cherukupalli, and Vemuru mandal headquarters.
Super‑fine rice will be sold at Rs 52/kg, steam rice at Rs 52/kg, raw rice at Rs 50/kg.
Each rice‑card holder can buy up to 26 kg per purchase.
Buyers must present a rice card and an Aadhaar card.
