Ukrainian Drone Strike Kills 12 In Russia's Tatarstan Region
For more than four years, Russia and Ukraine have been fighting a war.
Ukraine sent flying machines called drones to attack a part of Russia far away from the fighting, called Tatarstan.
The drones hit the city of Nizhnekamsk, and 12 people died and 39 people were hurt.
Leaders there said it was one of the worst single attacks of the whole war.
Russia also attacked a small village in Ukraine called Bugaivka with big weapons called artillery, and five people died.
Both countries are using attacks that fly very far, and the United Nations says more ordinary people are getting hurt.
Russia says it stopped 456 Ukrainian drones from reaching their targets.
Ukraine says Russia sent 126 drones at them too.
Some other people were hurt in attacks near the border as well.
War is very sad because it is usually regular people, not soldiers, who get hurt.
A Ukrainian drone strike on Nizhnekamsk in Russia's Tatarstan region killed at least 12 people and wounded 39, according to regional officials.
The attack, more than 1,000 km (620 miles) from the Ukrainian border, was one of Kyiv's deadliest single strikes in over four years of war.
Russian artillery fire killed five people in the village of Bugaivka in Ukraine's northeastern Kharkiv region, Ukrainian officials said.
Russia's defence ministry said it shot down 456 Ukrainian drones overnight, while Ukraine's air force said Russia launched 126 drones.
A woman was killed in a Ukrainian attack on Russia's Belgorod region, and a man died in a Russian drone strike on a taxi in the frontline Kherson region.
