Thai Footballer Dies After Lightning Strikes Pitch During Match
During a football game in southern Thailand, a big storm came with heavy rain and lightning.
A lightning bolt hit the field, and many players fell down.
One player, a 24-year-old man named Awae, was hurt very badly.
Sadly, doctors could not save him, and he died.

Awae was a winger for SAMCOLTS, which was facing Abu x Nong Sirin in a tournament featuring amateur Thai and Malaysian teams.
He had recently signed for Thai third-tier club Yala FC and was rushed to Sungai Kolok Hospital, where he died despite emergency medical efforts.
Yala FC and the Football Association of Thailand mourned his death, and experts warned that matches should be suspended when thunderstorms approach.
