Teen Girl Escapes Ballia Child Care Facility; Two Booked

A 16-year-old girl named Putul Kumari was staying at a child care facility in Ballia.

She had been brought there after officials found her missing.

On Sunday, she went into a toilet and locked the door.

Officials said she escaped through a window.

The girl has not yet been found.

Police booked a constable and the facility supervisor because they were responsible for the facility at the time.

An investigation is also taking place.

Officials said the supervisor may be removed from her job for alleged negligence.
