Meghalaya Man Missing in Karnataka Reunites with Family
A man named Kwis Sumer left his home in Meghalaya to look for work in Karnataka.
His family did not hear from him, and he was missing since July 15.
The matter was brought to the notice of the Meghalaya government through a memorandum.
The Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma, asked the Karnataka government to help.
Police from both states worked together to find him.
A kind person named Kavi Kumar had given Sumer a place to stay and helped him contact his family.
The police found him safe in a town called Tiptur.
He was brought back to Meghalaya and reunited with his family in Shillong.
Everyone thanked the police and the chief minister for bringing him home safely.
Kwis Sumer of Muktapur village, West Jaintia Hills district, had been missing since July 15 after travelling to Karnataka in search of employment.
Following a memorandum submitted on July 27, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma took up the issue with the Karnataka government.
A Meghalaya Police team led by IPS officer Lovish Garg travelled to Bengaluru and coordinated with senior Karnataka Police officials to trace Sumer to Tiptur in Tumakuru district.
Sumer was found safe after attempting to contact his family through social media with the help of Kavi Kumar, who had provided him shelter during his stay in Karnataka.
He was reunited with his family and clan members in Shillong on Monday, and arrangements were made for his return to his home at Muktapur village.
