The Communist Party of India held a meeting in Nellore to plan for local elections.

It wants to work with parties that are not part of the NDA in places where it is strong.

CPI leader Jangala Vijayakumar said party members should get ready for elections in towns, districts, and local wards.

He accused the government of removing many voters from the lists during a voter-checking process.

He called for that process to stop and for deleted votes to be restored.

He also said some promised welfare benefits have not been delivered.

The CPI says poor and homeless families are still waiting for promised housing help.

It plans to hold a protest at the Assembly on October 26.
